My work (my passion) is to do the very best job I can to be of tangible help to people struggling with anxiety disorders. The majority of my work is with folks who have OCD and Panic Disorder but I find that many with one anxiety disorder also have depression to some degree and often Generalized Anxiety Disorder as well. For years I felt sure that Cognitive-Behavior Therapy was the only therapy of demonstrable effectiveness for these problems. Then the more I learned about and used ACT the clearer I became that it offered some very important elements that were missing from CBT. For some people, I believe the cognitive component of CBT is counterprodutive. I am very excited about ACT and what it offers in the treatment of anxiety.
