I have studying ACT since 2000, it resonates with my DBT self training and mindfulness work. I have been using Hayes workbook in individual therapy and will be creating an anger management group using Hayes work on anger and ACT.

I am a psychotherapist with twenty three years experience in working with children, adolescents and their families, as well as adults and young adults. Presently, I am the Director of a college in an urban setting where I provide counseling and psychotherapy to young adults of diverse backgrounds. I am a bilingual therapist (Spanish/English). At present, my work focuses on working with Latina and Latinos in a college setting, focusing on depression and anxiety and using DBT and ACT to learn distress tolerance, mindfulness, and learn self soothing techniques to reduce emotional upheaval.I myself practice Zen meditation and attend Zazen on a regular basis. In my work, I also use writing as a form of healing and facilitate writing and healing groups, as well as mindfulness groups at the college where I work.
