ACT Skills- Training for Clinicians sessions in Sydney

Six ACT skills-development sessions will be available to anyone interested in improving their ACT clinical skills. It is useful to have completed at least one introduction to ACT programme or to have done extensive research/reading about ACT. These weekly sessions will be conducted by 2 experienced ACT therapists, Mary Sawyer on Monday mornings (commencing 28 April), and Michael Cohn on Thursday evenings comencing (commencing 1 May) .

Six Monday Mornings, 10.00am-12.00, beginning 28 April till 2 June, 2008 with Mary Sawyer

Six Thursday Evenings, 5.00pm-7.00pm, beginning 1 May till 5 June, 2008 with Michael Cohn

The required course material is the New Harbinger publication, Learning ACT: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Skills-Training Manual for Therapists. This will be made available to you at the first session.

These sessions will be experiential and will follow a step by step guide to mastering the Six Core Processes of ACT and some of the core competency practices.

Both Mary Sawyer and Michael Cohn have had extensive training with the creators of ACT, have conducted ACT training workshops and groups and are the convenors of the Sydney ACT interest group. Both are passionate about providing ongoing skills-training for ACT therapists.
