Dr. Robyn Walser will teach this group over six months. Her style is flexible, engaging and informative. The group will meet for one hour (with the initial session lasting 90") per month for 6 months. The group will be structured to maximize your learning of ACT and can include a number of things. We can explore everything from initial implementation to using ACT with specific clients. We will be flexible to meet the groups needs. We can also provide reading material for particular topics to facilitate the learning process. Emails are also a welcome form of communication.
This is the introductory acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) workshop that is being presented as an opportunity primarily for professionals to be able to experientially contact the ACT approach. A considerable portion of the workshop is expected to be experiential. The remainder will be interspersed with introduction of concepts and theory where necessary. The format and content of the workshop will generally adhere to the design of the weekend ACT workshops conducted by Dr. Stephen Hayes, and will be largely based on the book: Steven C. Hayes, Kirk D. Strosahl, Kelley Wilson (1999).
