A considerable portion of the workshop is expected to be experiential. The remainder will be interspersed with introduction of concepts and theory where necessary. The format and content of the workshop will generally adhere to the design of the weekend ACT workshops conducted by Dr. Stephen Hayes, and will be largely based on the book: Steven C. Hayes, Kirk D. Strosahl, Kelley Wilson (1999).

In this series of 6 classes, participants will be introduced to and will practice the main techniques used in each of the six ACT core therapeutic processes: Acceptance, Experiential Aviodance, Cognitive defusion, Being Present in the moment, Self as Context and Defining Valued directions. Participants may choose to attend one or all of the sessions in service of the development of their competent ACT practice. (Places are limited to 20 participants per session to maximise practical experience in the session)
